Refund policy

This Cancellation & Refund Policy applies to all purchases made from the GateKept website and is issued in compliance with applicable Indian laws, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

2. Nature of Products
All products sold by GateKept are limited edition and made-to-order. Each item is manufactured specifically after an order is placed.
Due to the made-to-order nature of our products, returns are not offered for preference-based reasons. However, size-related exchanges are available under the conditions outlined below.
This policy is clearly disclosed on product pages prior to purchase.
3. Size Exchange Policy
We offer size-related exchanges subject to the following conditions:
- Customers may request a size exchange if the ordered size does not fit
- A logistics and handling fee of ₹100–₹150 will be applicable, depending on the quantity and weight of the items
- The requested exchange is subject to availability of the desired size
- If the requested size is not available, a refund will be issued after return and quality check
The following reasons are still not eligible for return or exchange:
- Style or design preference
- Color variation due to lighting, photography, or screen/display differences
- Perceived difference in design appearance compared to images
Minor measurement deviations of up to ±1 inch are considered industry-acceptable and do not qualify as defects.
4. Eligible Cases for Exchange or Return
An exchange or return will be accepted under the following circumstances:
- Manufacturing defects
- Damaged product received
- Incorrect item or size shipped by GateKept
- Size exchange requests (as per Section 3)
In such cases, GateKept will, at its discretion, offer either:
- A replacement of the same product, or
- A refund (only if the exchange item is unavailable), after successful return and inspection
5. Mandatory Unboxing Video Requirement
To raise a claim for a damaged, defective, or incorrect product, the customer must provide a continuous, uncut unboxing video that:
- Starts before opening the package
- Clearly shows the shipping label
- Shows the product being removed from the packaging
Claims without a valid unboxing video or with edited/partial footage will not be accepted.
6. Product Condition & Quality Check
Returned products must:
- Be unused, unworn, unwashed, and unaltered
- Have original tags intact
- Be returned in original packaging
Products that show signs of use, damage after delivery, or tampered tags will be rejected.
GateKept’s quality check decision after inspection shall be final and binding.
7. Return Process & Timelines
Approved returns and exchanges will be picked up via reverse pickup, subject to serviceability of the customer’s pin code.
If reverse pickup is unavailable, the customer may be required to self-ship the product.
- For defective/incorrect items, shipping costs will be reimbursed upon approval
- For size exchanges, the applicable ₹100–₹150 fee must be paid before processing
Once the returned item is received and passes quality inspection:
- Exchanges will be processed and shipped
- Refunds (if applicable) will be processed within 7–10 working days
Refunds will be issued to:
- The original payment method used for prepaid orders
- Bank transfer for COD orders (bank details must be provided by the customer)
8. Order Cancellation Policy
Order cancellations are allowed only before production has started.
Once an order has been processed, printed, or sent for manufacturing, cancellations are not permitted.
9. Force Majeure
GateKept shall not be held liable for delays or failures in delivery, pickup, exchanges, or refunds due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Courier or logistics partner delays
- Natural disasters
- Acts of God
- Government restrictions or regulatory actions
10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This policy shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India.
Any disputes arising out of or relating to this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Gurugram, Haryana.
By placing an order on the GateKept website, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Cancellation & Refund Policy.
